The Library Collection

The collection at Mitchell Elementary is intended to follow the district policies and guidelines. Teachers, students, and families have access to the entire collection and are encouraged to borrow books that peak their curiosity and interest. Students will have the opportunity to check out books from the collection weekly. Students can have up to 10 books checked out under their name. When a student has reached 10 checkouts, they will be able to check out more until at least some of the books are returned. No fines or fees will be applied for "late" returns or lost books. Fines will only be accrued in the event a book was intentionally damaged in order to help develop accountability and responsibility for the books.
