Social Worker - Mr. Dominic Ortega

Dominic Ortega is one of the school social workers at Mitchell Elementary serving students in kindergarten through fifth grade. He holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan with certificates in Child Welfare and School Social Work. Dominic has over 10 years of experience working with youth from kindergarten through high school and is passionate about helping students develop strong social and emotional skills that support their success both in and out of the classroom. He especially enjoys teaching social-emotional learning and helping students build confidence, resilience, and positive relationships. Outside of school, Dominic enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and gardening, and he is an enthusiastic fan of Michigan Wolverines athletics.
