Social Worker - Ms. Sarai Koster-Stetson

Sarai

Hi, I’m Sarai, one of Mitchell’s two School Social Workers! After 25 years as a middle school teacher, I now support our elementary students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.

I work with students individually and in small groups, collaborate closely with teachers and staff, and partner with families to help children navigate challenges and build important life skills. I believe that when we support the whole child, we must also support the whole family. I am available to connect caregivers with resources, problem-solve concerns, and strengthen the home–school partnership so every student can thrive.

I hold degrees from Eastern Michigan University (BFA, M.Ed.) and the University of Michigan (MSW). Outside of school, I enjoy art projects, exploring parks, building with LEGOs, playing video games, camping, biking, and swimming with my kids.

Strong relationships are at the heart of student success, and I am dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive environment where all students and families feel seen, valued, and understood. I look forward to working together throughout the school year.
